“It is mandatory to get the form duly signed by a Resident Medical Officer and then only patients even those whose Oxygen saturation is low are put on Oxygen. We are roaming from pillar to post but nobody in the hospital is ready to offer us an Oxygen Cylinder for the patient,” an attendant from Nawakadal Srinagar told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

Another attendant said that despite requesting Medical Superintendent, his patient was not offered any Oxygen Cylinder. “Authorities must visit the hospital to assess the situation. It is total mess here. Covid-19 patients have been left on the mercy of Almighty God,” he said.

The attendants of Covid-19 patients said that there are no facilities for the patients in the hospital.

When tried to contact, Medical Superintendent CD Hospital didn’t pick up the phone.

Meanwhile, attends of Covid-19 infected patients held a protest in the premises of Sub-District Hospital Kupwara alleging that the lack of facilities in the hospital are taking a toll on Covid-19 patients. They said even doctors are not available for the Covid-19 patients.

“The hospital didn’t offer anything for the patients, we arrange everything from outside. Even we are being asked to purchase a simple syringe from outside medical shops,” the protesting patients said adding that it is a myth that Covid-19 patients are being taken care in the hospital by so-called ‘Covid Warriors.’ (KNT)
