Srinagar : A motorcyclist was killed and two pillion riders were injured after the two-wheeler they were on, met a fatal accident in Kralgund area in Handwara on Friday afternoon.
Reports reaching GNS said that the incident took place after a bike bearing registration number JK-01B 2774 and a (Mahindra) Mini-truck bearing registration number JK05J-8445 collided head on in Takherpora area, resulting in injuries to three persons riding on the bike.
The trio was immediately lifted from the spot to NTPHC Kralgund, however the motorcyclist identified as one Jazaib Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Langate, succumbed on way to the hospital.
The two injured identified as Aamir Ahmad Bhat (25) son of Ali mohammad Bhat, resident of Safalpora Kralgund and Junaid Ramzan Ganai resident of Baharpora Rafiabad are undergoing treatment at the health facility.
Meanwhile a police official confirming the incident told that a case has been registered in this regard for due investigations.
