COVID-19: J&K reports 129 positive cases, no death reported in last 24 hours

Srinagar, Aug 13: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday witnessed 176 fresh positive cases, taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,324.

No death has been reported in J&K in the last 24 hours, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,395 and 129 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 323,190.

Of the exact number of 323,190 cases, 200,725 are from Kashmir division and 122,465 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 129 new cases, 63 belong to Kashmir division while as 66 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 200,725 including 197,734 recoveries and 2,239 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,465 including 119,737 recoveries and 2,156 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,324 including 752 from Kashmir division and 572 from Jammu division.

With 112 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 317,471 which is 98.23 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 21 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 08 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 66 from Jammu division include 15 from Jammu, 05 from Udhampur, 09 from Rajouri, 16 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 03 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 15 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that three fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and reached to 41.

As per officials figures, 71,759 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,613 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,751 including 282 deaths and 23,384 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,007 including 22,718 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,246 including 15,014 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,141 including 165 deaths and 13,935 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,366 including 16,126 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,541 cases including 9,394 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,004 including 9,856 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,322 including 11,168 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,588 including 5,526 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,897 including 51,623 recoveries and 1,141 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,362 including 11,169 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,018 including 10,722 recoveries and 228 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,395 including 7,167 recoveries and 128 deaths are from Doda, 9,273 including 9,113 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,129 including 7,002 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,700 including 4,606 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,287 including 6,161 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,980 including 5,895 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,424 including 6,279 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 3,028,980 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,508 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,324 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,629,096 persons have completed the surveillance period and 386,657 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 12,473,357 samples are available. Out of 12,473,357 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,150,167 while as 323,190 have tested positive, among them 1,324 persons are active, 317,471 persons have recovered and 4,395 persons have died—(KNO)
