Srinagar, Oct 15: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar Friday said that a militant from Srinagar, who was involved in recent civilian killings has been killed in an ongoing Pulwama has been identified as Shahid Bashir , of Srinagar.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the gunfight broke out between forces and militants in Wahibugh area after a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
“Killed #militant has been identified as Shahid Basir Sheikh of #Srinagar. He was involved in recent #killing of #civilian (Mohd Safi Dar, PDD Deptt’s staff) on 2/10/21. AK 47 rifle was used in his killing. One AK rifle along with Mag/Amn recovered.”—(KNO)
