Two persons have died while two others were rescued on Sunday from Sinthan Pass in South Kashmir after they were stuck due to heavy snowfall at sinthan Top.
An official told that a team of district Administration Anantnag, Army and police launch rescue operation after recieving information of Four drivers trapped at sinthan due to snow accumulation.
“One person was found dead on the spot while another died during the trip back. Two persons also survived and are being treated for hypothermia and shock,” the official said.
Meanwhile, an official said that hard efforts of 19 Rashtriya Rifles led by Major Pankaj Kumar Sharma Dysp Kokernag and SDM Kokernag traversed 30km through rough snow locked and foggy terrain, aided by MED machinery and then walked for 8 kms in freezing winds and snow to get back the injured and the deceased from Sinthan.
Reports said Roshan Kashmir that the deceased persons were identified as imtiyaz Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Ramzan Mir resident of Kucchal and Dawood majid lone son of ab Majeed lone resident of dedpeth.While two others who are under treatment are identified as Sajid Hussain Sheikh age 21 son of Ab majeed sheikh resident of Kueehad and Amir Raja age 24 Son of Bashir ah Mahanto resident of dedpeth.
As Per reports both are stable and out of danger.
