SRINAGAR: Enrolled students from Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with AMU administration have made arrangements of accommodation for students from JK who are appearing for the entrance examination for class XI.

According to statement, the university has made arrangements for 3 day night stay with other facilities like access to purified water, a counselling cell and a reading room for the aspirants of the 11th entrance examination at Habib Hall Auditorium AMU. Besides opening the doors for the aspirants of JK to appear in the entrance examination, students from other regions of India are also welcomed by the senior JK AMU students.

J&K Students Association Spokesperson Nasir Khuehami in a statement has said that arrangements were made after proper consensus, consultation of association with the provost team and senior students of Habib hall with a vision to further the vision of sir syed Ahmad khan; Founder of AMU.

Coordinator J&K Aligarh Students Zubair Reshi in a statement said, “These agreements were made following the footsteps of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, who devoted his entire life in disseminating and imparting the education among the Muslim community who are still lagging behind in terms of all over development. He always made efforts to make Education accessible and affordable to marginalized and downtrodden sections of society”. Irfan Bashir, Senior Research scholar and coordinator of the event expressed his gratitude to administration for cooperating with them in order to make all this possible.

J&K students Association hailed this step made by the JK Aligarh students and expressed their gratitude for making arrangements possible for the aspirants of AMU 11th entrance examination who were appearing in the entrance.

“Students from humble backgrounds find in unaffordable to take the expenses of accommodation in Aligarh while appearing in the entrance. This step was taken to help poor students, besides accommodation facilities the candidates appearing in the entrance examination were also guided for their future prospects as well,” said Advocate Arshad Anwar in a statement.

Association thanked coordinators Irfan Bashir, Zubair Reshi, Adv Arshad Anwar and Anayat Rasool for making all this possible. Association appreciated their fervor and enthusiasm for social services and hoped they will continue to take such worth-eulogizing steps in future, reads the statement.
