Srinagar, Sep 10: In a heart-wrenching tragedy, a two-year-old boy was murdered in a home invasion that occurred in central Kashmir’s Budgam district late Monday night.
Sources said that the masked men entered the family’s home in Kechwari and attacked the toddler, Zeeshan Ahmad Kalas, who was sleeping with his mother around 2 a.m. local time. The gunmen slit the toddler’s throat, gagged the mother, and escaped.
At the time of the attack, the father was away. The distraught family told police the attack had been targeted, they said.
Meanwhile, The police mounted a thorough investigation into the motive behind the dastardly act and the capture of the perpetrators.
Locals are shocked, and officials are appealing to residents for help in the manhunt for the attackers.
The body of the boy will be handed over to the family after due procedures in the courts and other medical ways are done.— (KB)
