Budgam, September 5: A dignified and emotional Teachers’ Day celebration was organised at Mehboob-ul-Aalam Public School Bandgam, Zone Narbal, on Saturday, highlighting the important role played by teachers in educating students, nurturing their talents and shaping their future.
Retired educationist and teacher Ghulam Din Dar attended the programme as the chief guest. Chairman of the Auqaf Committee Bandgam Ghulam Mohammad Pari and school Principal Abdul Rashid Bhat, besides teachers, students and members of the local community, were also present on the occasion.
During the programme, students paid tribute to their teachers by presenting a variety of cultural performances, including speeches, poems, songs and short skits. Several students became emotional while expressing their gratitude and affection for their teachers, making the atmosphere of the programme deeply touching and memorable.
In their addresses, the students said that teachers are a fundamental source of guidance in achieving their dreams and building a successful future. Expressing gratitude for the guidance, encouragement and education provided by their teachers, they said the training and values imparted by their teachers inspire them to become doctors, engineers, teachers and responsible citizens in the future.
The students also pledged to always respect their teachers and never forget their valuable contributions. Their emotional tributes touched the hearts of everyone present at the function.
The programme also highlighted that the role of teachers is not limited to imparting academic knowledge, but extends to developing students’ morals, discipline, confidence, character and sense of social responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Ghulam Din Dar, a retired educationist and teacher, said that teachers play a vital role in nation-building by nurturing and guiding the younger generation. He urged students to always respect their teachers, value education and work with dedication and determination to achieve their goals. He described teachers as the true architects of the nation’s future.
Principal Abdul Rashid Bhat appreciated the efforts of the teaching staff and students in organising the programme. He urged students to remain focused on their studies and to incorporate the education, training and values imparted by their teachers into their practical lives.
The occasion also marked the birth anniversary of renowned scholar, philosopher and former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers’ Day across the country every year on September 5.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. Teachers, students and guests departed with memorable reflections from a meaningful, inspiring and emotional Teachers’ Day celebration.
