Kulgam, Sep, 12; Kulgam Police while continuing its efforts against the drug menace and its back to back actions against such peddlers are being taken out in the district with the aim of eradicating the drug menace from the society.

In this regard multiple checkpoints have been established at different locations and during checking Six Drug Peddlers identified as:-
1. Aijaz Ahmad Magray S/O Manzoor Ahmad Magray R/O Check Badwani.
2.Aaqib Ahmad Sheikh S/O Mohd Yaqoob Sheikh R/O Chirhama
3.Kashmir Singh S/O Tara Chand R/O Jungle Gali Udhampur
4.Mubarak Ahmad Rather S/O Mohd Yousuf Rather R/O Ashmuji
5.*Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Rashid Bhat R/O Bhan, Kulgam.
6. Wakeel Ahmad Wagay S/O Reyaz Ahmad Wagay R/O Redwani Bala were arrested and from their possession, officers present were able to recover 10.7 Kgs of Poppy Straw* and 110 grams of Charas like contraband substances was recovered. Also two vehicles bearing registration number JK21G-6696 (Truck) and JK03J-8132 (Auto) involved in commission of crime have been seized.

Regarding the incidents, cases vide FIR No. 136 &137/2024 at Police Station Kulgam. cases vide FIR No. 218 & 219/2024 at Police Station Qazigund and case vide FIR No. 84/2024 at Police Station Qaimoh under relevant sections of law stands registered and investigation has been taken up in all cases.

Community members are requested to extend full cooperation to police and to share the information regarding anti social activity in their neighbourhood with nearby police unit or Dial 112 so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
