Kulgam, Nov,11: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Kulgam conducted an important awareness program at Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Kulgam, aimed at educating students and staff on disaster preparedness and safety measures. Over 100 participants, including boys, girls, and staff members, attended the session.
The program covered a range of critical topics, including disaster management and mitigation, first aid, CPR techniques, earthquake preparedness, fire safety, and the safe use of LPG. In addition, participants were briefed on flood prevention and protective measures to enhance their awareness and readiness in the face of emergencies.
Lectures were delivered by experts from the SDRF, who emphasized the importance of knowing how to respond during various disaster scenarios. The hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions were designed to equip the attendees with essential skills for safeguarding themselves and others in times of crisis.
The Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Kulgam, while appreciating the initiative, praised SDRF Kulgam for its proactive approach in spreading awareness about disaster safety. He expressed hope that such programs would continue to be organized in the future to foster a culture of preparedness among students and staff.
The awareness program was well-received and marked a significant step toward enhancing community resilience in Kulgam.
