Budgam, Nov 30: Civil and Police Administration Saturday conducted a market checking drive at Beerwah market in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district to ensure that essential commodities are sold at government-approved rates.
The checking squad, led by Naib Tehsildar Beerwah Abdul Qayoom Ahnager and accompanied by the Police officials, inspected rate lists, verified the hygiene environment, and checked packaged commodities for MRP, package date, net content, and other relevant information.
During the inspection, team members led by Naib Tehsildar interacted with shopkeepers, asking them to display rate lists, maintain cleanliness, and ensure that packaged commodities bear the necessary information.
Naib Tehsildar, Abdul Qayoom while talking to reporters urged the public to report instances of overcharging to concerned authorities.
He said the drive aims to protect consumers from price irregularities and ensure that businesses comply with government regulations. [KNT]
