Kulgam, Dec, 05: In a significant step towards environmental development, B.K. Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forests and Wildlife (HOFF) J&K, laid the foundation stone for the Nagar Vatika in Arigatnoo, Kulgam. The event, held in the presence of several senior officials, marks a new initiative to enhance green spaces in the region.

The ceremony was attended by Irfan Rasool Wani, Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir, Arashdeep Singh, Conservator of Forests Kashmir South Forest Circle, Mohd Ashraf Katoo, District Forest Officer (DFO) Kulgam, as well as other officials including the Ranger Officer and the Forest Department staff from Kulgam.

During the occasion, B.K. Singh commended the efforts of the Kulgam Forest Department, acknowledging their dedication and hard work in the district. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives for improving the environment and ensuring sustainable forest management in the region.

The Nagar Vatika is expected to contribute significantly to local biodiversity, enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area, and provide residents with a green space for recreation. The forest department’s continued efforts in Kulgam were praised for their positive impact on the local community and the environment.
