Kulgam: Kulgam Police have successfully apprehended a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of a Poppy Straw-like contraband substance.
A police team from Police Station Kulgam, while conducting a checkpoint at Chawalgam, Kulgam, intercepted a suspect identified as Mashooq Ahmad Hilla, son of Abdul Rashid Hilla, resident of Vesbatpota, Kulgam. Upon searching his person, officers discovered and seized 02 kgs of Poppy Straw from his possession. He was immediately arrested.
In light of this incident, a case under the relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam, and an investigation is underway.
Kulgam Police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any instances of drug peddling or other criminal activities.
