Budgam, March 8: SAMIE College of Nursing, Beerwah, in collaboration with social activist Muzamil Mehmood, celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm.
The event was attended by Principal of SAMIE Degree College Beerwah, SHO Beerwah, and social activist Muzamil Mehmood. BSc Nursing students actively participated . The celebration also featured cultural performances and concluded with the felicitation of students.
Syed Ab Rouf Bukhari, Principal of the college, formally inaugurated the program, welcomed the guest speakers and participants, and extended his congratulations to the female faculty members on this special occasion.
Several speakers emphasized the importance of such programs in promoting women’s empowerment through self-managed and sustainable livelihood initiatives aimed at eradicating poverty.
Speakers also highlighted various aspects of women’s empowerment and rights, stressing the need for equal status and respect in all fields. They underscored the crucial role of women in social, economic, political, educational, and judicial sectors, emphasizing the need to raise mass awareness about women’s rights and acknowledge their achievements.
The event featured a variety of colorful performances, including a skit that effectively portrayed women’s rights, earning a warm round of applause from the audience.
