In the beautiful yet politically charged area of Kupwara, Kashmir, Nasir Nazir Lone has emerged as a transformative leader, particularly among the youth. A resident of Sogam Village, Nasir began his political journey over a decade ago, driven by a vision to mobilize young people towards active participation in the political process. The efforts have been nothing short of remarkable, through counselling sessions, one-on-one interactions and door-to-door meetings, he has successfully engaged countless youth in the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference. Nassir prime focus has been on three critical areas education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He has resonated deeply with the younger generation, inspiring them to take an active role in shaping their future. The commitment of Nasir to these domains is evident in his initiatives, which have not only provided resources but have also instilled a sense of hope and purpose among the youth.
Nasir’s political savvy was put to the test when he contested the District Development Council (DDC) elections in 2020, defeating well-known party candidates, including those from the proxies of PDP and PC, he quickly set to work on pressing issues in his constituency. Nasir recognizing the importance of education, he prioritized the establishment of libraries and allocated funds for essential resources, resulting in over 50 students now preparing for various competitive exams. Simultaneously, he worked tirelessly to enhance healthcare services in Sogam, securing funds from various schemes to improve the local healthcare system in Lalpora, tekipora, dever and Sogam areas of his DDC constituency. This multifaceted approach has not only improved the quality of life for many but has also fostered a sense of community and collaboration among the youth, encouraging them to engage in meaningful political discourse.
As the 2024 assembly elections approach, Nasir’s influence continues to grow, making him a inspiration of hope for politically ambitious youth in Kashmir. The ability to connect and convince young people, coupled with his genuine passion for their welfare, has inspired many to engage in political activities. A record breaking over 500 calls and meetings with more than 100 delegations daily in the months leading up to the grand success of party in the elections, he has proved his commitment to empowering the next generation. Nasir’s representation of the party across various media platforms has effectively highlighted its positive contributions, inspiring youth to join NC besides shaping his status as a youth leader. Nasir encouraging a sense of belonging and purpose among the youth is not just a politician he is a leader for change, proving that with dedication and vision, the youth of Kashmir can shape a brighter future for themselves and their people.
