Kulgam, Mar 15: A public awareness program was Saturday held at GDC Frisal to educate citizens about the newly introduced criminal laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act (BNSS), 2023.
The event was attended by several notable officials, including Tehsildar Frisal Javaid Iqbal, Principal of GDC Frisal Dr Ishtiyaq Ah, and DEO Frisal
Tehsildar Frisal explained the key provisions of the new criminal laws, highlighting changes such as stricter punishments, increased fines, and the introduction of community service for certain offenses. The laws also prioritize protecting vulnerable groups, including women and children.
The officials emphasized the importance of awareness programs like this one, as they help citizens understand their rights and responsibilities under the new legal system.
They encouraged people to stay informed and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to build a safer and more just society.
