Srinagar, Apr 8: A 55-year-old man lost his life following a scuffle over a land dispute in Pohru village of Nowgam on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Ghulam Rasool Rather, a resident of Ichigam in Budgam district, sustained critical head injuries during the altercation. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred amid a heated argument reportedly linked to a long-standing property dispute. Rather’s body has been shifted to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for postmortem.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation into the matter. [KNT]
