Srinagar, Oct 17: Two terrorists were killed as an operation continued along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday, official sources said.
The encounter broke out in the early hours after troops noticed suspicious movement in the Jumagund area of the Keran sector, prompting a challenge and a subsequent exchange of fire, they said.
“Approx 3.30 AM… Encounter ensued in Jumagund area of Keran Sector along LC. Two terrorists killed. Search underway,” a senior defence official said.
The operation was ongoing till last reports came in. Further details are awaited, officials added.(KD)
