Kulgam, April 11: A devastating fire broke out on Thursday evening in a footwear shop located in the heart of Kulgam’s main town, completely reducing the establishment to ashes.
Eyewitnesses said the blaze erupted suddenly and spread rapidly, leaving no time to rescue merchandise or property. The Fire and Emergency Services arrived promptly and succeeded in bringing the fire under control, thereby preventing it from spreading to adjacent buildings.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. However, the shop was entirely gutted, resulting in a significant financial setback for the owner.
Station House Officer (SHO) Kulgam, Subzar Ahmad, along with his team, and personnel from 18 BN CRPF Kulgam, reached the site immediately to assess the situation and assist in managing the aftermath.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this stage.
