Uri, April 08: Two individuals were critically injured after a bear attack in the Kazinag area of Kamalkote in north Kashmir’s Uri region on Wednesday.
The injured have been identified as Syed Sharafat Hussain, son of Syed Irshad Hussain, a resident of Madian Tangar, and another local person Peer Hussian son of Beigh hussain Resident of Madian kamalkote Uri.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the victims were in the forested area, where they were suddenly attacked by a bear. Both sustained serious injuries in the attack.
Soon after the incident, local residents, along with police from Choki Madian, rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation. The injured were promptly shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri for treatment.
Officials said the condition of both injured persons is critical, and they are receiving medical care at the hospital.
Authorities have advised residents in the area to remain cautious, especially while venturing into forested zones known for wildlife movement.
